Meet Dr. Steve L. Koo

Having grown up in Houston, TX, Dr. Steve L. Koo went to The University of Texas and graduated with honors, earning his degree in chemical engineering. He later studied at Texas A&M University to receive his master’s in chemical engineering before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1999!

Afterward, Dr. Koo completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Houston, graduating in 2007, and ended up partnering with Dr. Thomas Weil to create Piney Point Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Katy & Cypress!

Over the years, Dr. Koo has become a member of various organizations. Today, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hermann at Memorial City, and a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He’s also a proud and active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society, and serves on the Advisory Council for the U.T. Health Science Center Dental School.

In 2015, Dr. Koo was voted Texas Super Dentist and Top Dentist in the Houston Monthly and Houstonia 2015 magazines. His favorite dental topics involve dental implants, pathology, orthognathic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and cleft palate.
